WOW, we turned Telford International Centre, Shropshire into a 40 court pickleball venue for 4 days and it was EPIC!

The weather outside could not have been worse, thankfully we opted to run an indoor tournament. We were hoping to mark some courts out in the car park but the weather ruled that out.
The smiles inside the venue were bright and hardly wavered. There was surprise and delight at how Telford International Centre looked like it was made to house 40 pickleball courts!
1059 players, almost 500 spectators and 11 booths filled Telford International Centre.

We are delighted to have Pickleball United’s True Court be the Official Court Provider of the English OPEN.

Play with the PROs
Many players experienced playing with and against a top Pro Player. A unique opportunity to play a best of 3 game match, either gender doubles or mixed doubles, with one of this year’s pro players.

Clinics with the PROs
We again held clinics with the PROs on Thursday and Friday. They were oversubscribed and feedback was very positive.
SPECTATORS GALORE
We had almost 500 people register to come along and spectate over the 4 days of the event. A lot of them wanted to watch family and friends but it is good to know that pickleball is attracting people to watch.
The Franklin X40 was the official ball and Franklin nets the official net of the English OPEN.
